The French Quarters & Heritage
I will never get the chance to visit the elegance and charm of New Orleans and all its French Quarters as we saw just how ferocious Hurricane Katrina striked her on 29 August 2005. Dar had the opportunity to visit New Orleans before Hurricane Katrina striked and prior to flying over to Chicago, he drove his car and packed at Louise Armstrong International Airport and as a result of such massive destruction whereby the airport had perished, he has to divert and find alternative travelling route back to Alabama.
Thankfully he flew up to meet me in Chicago on 25 August 2005 otherwise he would have been a victim in that horrendous situation. While waiting the domestic flights within all the States, the Americans were glued to the TV sets and caught up on the latest updates of the situation in New Orleans and it was very sad to watch just how bad and devastated the situation was back then.
