Workplan Seminar 2011-HK Maret 2014

Manage work cum leisure during the four days workplan in Hong Kong really bonded all of us.

Upon arrival, we visited the Lantau Island with the great Buddha high up on the hill (that will come later folks).
Committee visited the Hong Kong Federation of Women Centres and they shared with us some of the programs implemented as well as self-help group for the low-income women.

I was most impressed with the medical escort service provided by the centres. Not only does it provide employment for the matured ladies, it actually helps the community as most people working might not have the time to accompany they aged parents for medical appointments and consultations.

We had a full day seminar breaking up into groups discussing and chartering the plans for Year 2012.

We play hard but as you can see, when it comes to serious matter.....we ladies are really hardworking.

Our NTUC Assistant Secretary-General, Joanna Chiam (1st right) wrapped up the seminar together with Women's Vice Chair, Director as well as Director from U-Family Unit.

Some of the key initiatives for Year 2012 namely:

  • Women's Back to Work program - to increase employment rate.

  • Leadership - to have strong women representation in the labour movement.

  • Family Friendly Workplace - to improve family care leave. flexi work etc.

  • Growing Membership - more benefits and helping contract workers etc.

Overall, very enriching and I felt that all ladies added value to the seminar and most importantly, I saw the strong camaraderie this time in Hong Kong :)

More photos to come folks but meanwhile, take a peak at this Lantau Island Buddha :D
