Colleague of mine 'checking' out the lucky numbers
Hey let me show you how my Company organised the 7th Moon Prayer Ceremony for our staff during the Ghost Festival. Traditionally most companies in Singapore would organise a simple prayer ceremony for all staff - this is first and foremost to pay respect to the 'spirit' and also to ensure a smooth plant operation.
Most employees will contribute some money and the Committee will work out the logistic and preparing the offerings on this day. Throughout the day, most employees would join in the prayer and some members of the Committee would 'seek' for lucky four-digit numbers of which it would be displayed at the urn for all staff to see.
That is why my colleague is trying his best to 'looooook out' for that lucky number. It all depends on individual luck on what you make out that four numbers to be. Actually I saw the number as 2281 but my buddies told me they saw 2289 so we shall see who is the lucky one that strike this weekend :D
Five Roast Pigs and Roast Chickens
'Mocked' Chicken, Fish, Crabs etc.
These 'mocked meat' are shaped like chicken, fish, crabs, pig head etc. and they are made of peanuts, sesame seeds and sugar. These are considered vegetarian dishes as part of the offerings.

Three sets of offering consists of white rice and rice wine for the 'Spirit'....... er....just in case they are 'around' the premises.
Praying For Health, Smooth Operation &Safety for Everyone in the Company
At the end of the day, the Committee would burn the incense paper, hell notes etc. before distributing all the offerings to all employees who contributed to the 7th Moon Prayer.
So there, some glimpse and insight to how my Company held the 7th Moon Prayer....I hope you'll have a better understanding of our local culture and tradition during the Ghost Festival.
