The Battle Box @ Fort Canning (Entrance to the tunnel)

After the underground tour

Amazing how time just flew by so quickly these few days during Aunty & Uncle's visit to Singapore. Besides bonding, it was perfect time-out for us to take leave from work and tour our very own sunny island. Very often, we gave the excuse of work and not make that extra effort to visit some of the places we would normally go at all.

So for the past two days, we went for a 'live' history lesson on how Singapore surrendered during The World War II by touring the Battlebox in Fort Canning. It was precisely at this British hide-out that decision was made to surrender to the Japanese. Besides the maze-like structure, there are wax soldiers and air-raid simulation exactly mock-up like war scenario - excellent insight!

Dragon Boat participants

Merlion taken on board the Duck Tour

Went on a Duck Tour from Suntec City - the bus cum boat was on the road before heading for the Kallang Basin and we waved to the guys on board the Dragon Boat......... Aunty & Uncle Bennett were excited to see the Merlion so clearly coz we were walking along the bridges the night before.
Cable Car Ride

Star Virgo @ The Cruise Centre

Took the cable car rider from Mount Faber to Sentosa Island - very hot day today but excellent view and luckily it was breezy inside the cabin.

Saw Star Virgo waiting for the night departure to Malaysia. I was onboard this ship last year on a Cruise To Nowhere! Hmm....or was it two years' ago??

Having a go at the Fountain of Wealth

Uncle having a Singapore Sling :D

We had a great time and all too soon, the Bennetts continued their journey to Brisbane to join their sister and family before flying back to England five weeks' later.

Until then...it's not goodbye now Aunty & Uncle, but see you soon :D We had fun too visiting our own landmark.
