In the morning, the groom would 'fetch' her back to his home and this is the return trip to my Mom-in-Law's house for the tea ceremony. On this return trip, one whole roasted pig 'came' back with the couple as an auspicious gift.
The Couple with their friends
Although the roasted pig is meant for the bride's family, the head & tail portion need to be returned to the grooms' family which symbolizes happy matrimony of beginning to the end. D was tasked to 'slaughter' the pig :D
Mission Accomplished
In between the head & the tail, my Mom-in-Law stashed a pair of trouser, some oranges and a red packet to be returned to the groom's family.
Being the matriarch, the couple served tea to my Mom-in-Law first followed by all the rest of the relatives, we were the last to be served as we were the youngest among all the aunties & uncles :D (We would give each a red packet after drinking tea)
Buffet lunch were served for all the relatives & friends who turned up for the tea-ceremony. Good for the younger generation to appreciate and observe this Chinese tradition especially when I saw my Mom-in-Law 'dressed' up the pig to be returned to the groom's family.
Ahh....Jack taking a break with the rest of his friends before moving off to his new house and getting ready for the dinner at night. I'll post that tomorrow.
Last but not least, the tray of lovely oranges with the sticker 'Double Happiness' pasted on them.
Once again, Best Wishes to Wei Chin & Jack as they embrace life together as husband and wife :D - I hope you've all enjoyed a brief intro of our Chinese Customary Wedding.
