Welcome to Singapore Francesca & Liz :D
Francesca & Liz @ The Merlion
Although we only have a day with them, we were glad to be able to squeeze in the boat cruise along the Singapore River, a walk to the Merlion as well as visit to our apartment.
Along Boat Quay before the boat cruise.....although it was hot & humid, it was certainly a lovely day.
Now...very briefly about Francesca. We met her Grandparents Brenda & Doug back in 1985 when we were on a short trip to Malaysia. Back in 1990 when we visited Wales, Francesca was only about 4 years old and we met again during our visit to Wales in 2004.
Sadly Brenda has passed on but we still keep in touch with Doug who is now 77 years old :D
Fast forward to 2007.....here she is in Singapore after touring Thailand & Malaysia with her friends. (Some flew to Australia the night before)
Off we go for the bum boat ride....I'm glad to say it was slow & steady to soak in the sight :D
They went to Clark Quay the night before so it was good to take in different perspective of quiet Clark Quay during the day.
One more shot of our icon, The Merlion for you folks !
Look at this floating platform getting ready for our National Day celebration on 9 August 2007. Isn't this wonderful :)I have always wanted a shot of this due to its colourful window panels......this is our Ministry of Arts & Information building at Hill Street.
They just wanna soak in the sun for the last time before flying back to Wales :D Chill-out after the boat cruise.
One for the memory of course :D
We never imagine that she is coming by to Singapore with her friend Liz :D Francesca shared that after going back to Wales, she'll be working in Paris for a year as part of her university program so hmmm.....we might just meet again ya?
Have a safe trip home Gals....it was a pleasure to have you here :D
